When Charlie Crist was young, he went to Riviera Junior High School in St. Petersburg, Florida and later attended Florida State University. Governor Crist attended Law School in Alabama. His grandfather, who was a Greek Cypriot immigrant, shined shoes for a living and Charlie with hard work became the Governor of Florida.

Last Thursday, March 6th, I watched a tennis legend!  Pete Sampras came to the Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida and I was one of the lucky ones in attendance. Pete Sampras is the former World #1 American tennis player. He retired 5 years ago but during his 15-year career, Sampras won a record 14 Grand Slam men's singles titles. Sampras finished as World #1 on the ATP rankings for six consecutive years. Pete Sampras had an exhibition tennis match and he played three sets of tennis against a two time grand slam finalist, Todd Martin. Both players are now retired from tennis.
