Written by Jimmy Pitenis
When
Charlie Crist was young, he went to RivieraJunior High School in St.
Petersburg, Florida and later attended
FloridaStateUniversity.
Governor Crist attended LawSchool in Alabama.
His grandfather, who was a Greek Cypriot immigrant, shined shoes for a living
and Charlie with hard work became the Governor of Florida.
Last Thursday, March 6th,
I watched a tennis legend!Pete Sampras
came to the Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville,
Florida and I was one of the
lucky ones in attendance. Pete Sampras is the former World
#1 Americantennis
player. He retired 5 years ago but during his 15-year career, Sampras won a
record 14 Grand Slam men's singles titles. Sampras
finished as World #1 on the ATP rankings for six
consecutive years. Pete Sampras had an exhibition tennis match and he played three sets of
tennis against a two time grand slam finalist, Todd Martin. Both players are
now retired from tennis.
“We spend
many evenings having cheerful conversations enjoying the summer breeze full of
the aroma of the Aegean Sea.Although Father Sitaras is no longer with us,
he is in our conversations and is remembered by relatives and friends for his
generosity, kindness, and joyful energy.”
