Parenting educator Elizabeth Pantley is president of Better Beginnings, Inc., a family resource and education company. Elizabeth frequently speaks to parents at schools, hospitals, and parent groups around the world. Her presentations are received with enthusiasm, and praised as realistic, warm and helpful.
Dr. Contogiannis completed her plastic surgery residency at the University of Missouri in Kansas City, Missouri. After receiving her undergraduate bachelor degree from Duke University, she received her medical degree from East Carolina University. Dr. Contogiannis then trained in general surgery at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine and East Carolina University prior to her plastic surgery residency. She also completed a hand surgery fellowship while training in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Contogiannis is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
It's no surprise Cat Cora became a world renowned chef. Her culinary aspirations began at an early age, and by 15, she had developed a business plan for her own restaurant. In 2005, she made television history on Food Network's Iron Chef America as the first and only female Iron Chef, and in November 2006 Bon Appetit Magazinebestowed her with their Teacherof the Year Award, an award she calls, “the greatest recognition she could achieve as a chef.” That month, she was also honored with another great culinary distinction when she was named Executive Chef of the magazine.
Jimmy Pitenis is a sixth grader and honors student at Ormond Beach Middle School in Ormond Beach, Florida. He is an altar boy every Sunday helping Fr. George Savas at the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Daytona Beach. Jimmy is a Black Belt in Tae Kwan Do, enjoys Greek dancing, was voted the President of his school’s Student Council, and a 2007 winner of his school’s Science Fair. He practices golf everyday at the Riviera Country Club and hopes to be a professional golfer one day.
Dimitris was born and spent his childhood in the Netherlands, where his parents had emigrated. He spent adolescence in Nea Orestiada, the most northern town of Greece, wedged between Turkey and Bulgaria. At the age of 19 he moved to Thessaloniki where he completed his studies in journalism. He worked with most chief newspapers and radio stations of the city and in 1998 he decided to get on with his studies.
Dr. Joseph Skelton, Assistant Professor, Pediatrics Brenner FIT Program, Pediatrics. Dr. Skelton is a member of the pediatric gastroenterology team at Brenner Children’s Hospital, heads the obesity and weight management program, helping children overcome obesity and paving the way to healthier lifestyles. Dr. Skelton consults with other pediatric specialists at Brenner Children’s Hospital to treat children with high cholesterol, insulin resistance, sleep apnea and other obesity-related diseases. In addition to the Brenner FIT Program, Dr. Skelton is working with pediatric surgeons to offer the state’s only Adolescent Bariatric Surgery Program, to open in summer of 2008.
