Evangelia Teka is a freelance linguist working for major translation companies in the UK, USA, Ireland & Hong Kong. She lives in London, UK and Thessaloniki, Greece. She is a native Greek speaker with near-native English and she also speaks French. She holds an MA in ELT and Applied Linguistics from King’s College of the University of London and a BA (Hons) in English from Middlesex University. She had worked as a language assistant for the language centre of Middlesex University dealing with pre-sessional university students. She has a vast experience in teaching Greek speakers in chains such as AXON & ISON. She has also assisted in the creation of a syllabus in English for undergraduate students. Her expertise is found in: English and Greek Grammar, Syntactic Structures, Second Language Acquisition & Psycholinguistics. Her research interests include Translation Approaches, Subtitling, Translation in the Automotive Industry & Development of Techniques in On-Line Bilingual Term Findings.
