He attended the school of journalism in Utrecht, Netherlands, and Aarhus, Denmark, completing his post-graduate course in Cardiff, Wales Great Britain, where he got his master's degree. In 2000 Dimitris tried his luck in Athens. He has worked with major newspapers, magazines and Internet portals. He is a member of the International Federation of Journalists (I.F.J.), he has taught in state schools of journalism, he has written a book research on the publication of newspapers, and finally, in 2005, when he considered the time was right, he decided to make his dream come true: Travel Around the World. During all those years, he went on many trips to over 20 countries. Dimitris couldn't resist the challenge of his dream, which is also a secret wish for most people to travel around the world. In his mid 30's he decided to make his wish come true. He couldn't find anyone to go along, but that was not an obstacle. He set off on his own. He couldn't afford it, but he took the first step hoping that it would be half the battle, so he gave it a shot. Besides, the world belongs to dreamers. He sold off his belongings (not that many, anyway). He quit his job, grabbed his backpack, a digital camera, a compass and set off for his own Odyssey.

In his own words: “This journey is a challenge. Both for me and for you. Personally, I
will attempt to carry off an unfulfilled and, for many, even utopian dream. You will discover how many things you have in common with Greece, its civilization, and its history. Through my journey I will share images, experiences, myths, tastes, customs, friends, words, destinations. We will find out that all the things that bring us closer are many more than those that drift us apart. This trip will last for more than four years, although this is not enough time to visit all the places around the world. The first phase of my travels will be in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, and Brazil. From the 6th of February 2007 and for the next year, I will travel around Central and South America. Where about are the next destinations, who knows? For sure after Latin America I will visit Australia, Asia, USA, Canada, Europe, and at the end Africa. So, join us in the rhythm of the cosmos”.
